Hyland Family Bicycles, a long-time supporter of cancer research and awareness, held a store-wide sale in 2005 to raise funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The four-day event culminated in a drawing for two Beach Cruisers for two lucky winners.

Further supporting the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, women from the Hyland store family signed up to participate in the fundraising weekend marathon walk in San Francisco on July 9 -10, 2005. The stalwart bike shop team, The Pink Panthers, were Jenni Hyland, Melanie Hyland-Penney, Jayne Smits and Rhonda Schmidt. These women walked in the event to raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness.

Hyland Family Bicycles has given generously to many school events, such as the fundraising program at The Schallenberger Elementary School a few years ago. Bill Hyland donated bikes as prizes two years in a row. A mountain bike and a BMX Stingray went to the students who raised the most money for school projects.

Hyland Family Bicycles continues to support many cancer research and awareness programs, as well as donations to many community school and non-profit events

For the past five years, Hyland Bikes has been a supporter of a great charity, Turning Wheels for Kids, who's focus to encourage outdoor activity resulting in health and well-being for children. They have an annual bike build that puts over 2000 bikes in the hands of under privileged children and we at Hyland bikes are proud to be a supporter of this great organization.

Since 2007, Melanie and Jennifer Hyland have participated in the Silicon Valley AIDS Walk benefiting the Silicon Valley AIDS Leadership Council, an organization dedicated to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and enhance the lives of affected persons. They have once again pledged to walk in this year's event so if you see them out there, say "hello".
